Tommy's Motor Co

Tommy's Motor Co are a specialist mechanic in Coggeshall, Essex, working on German marques with dealer-trained Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz experience. Servicing is only part of what they do - they also sell cars, source them to order and take on performance work.

That mix is what shaped the site. Somebody booking a service and somebody looking to buy or sell want completely different things, and all of it had to be visible without the site pretending to be bigger than the business.

Everything sits on one page, moving from the workshop and what they service, through the cars they have for sale, to sourcing a specific car and performance upgrades. The navigation jumps between those sections rather than loading new routes.

Two forms cover the parts that need customer input - one for owners wanting to sell a car, and one for buyers describing a car they want sourced. Each asks for the vehicle details up front rather than starting with an empty message box.

Built with Next.js 16 and the App Router, React 19 and Tailwind CSS. The whole site is a single route composed from separate section components, so the structure stays readable even though everything renders on one page.

Framer Motion handles the scroll reveals and navigation transitions, and the workshop photography goes through next/image. Typography pairs Syne and Montserrat for headings with Inter for body text, loaded through next/font.

Because the business trades on being the local specialist, the page ships JSON-LD structured data describing it as an AutoRepair and LocalBusiness - trading location, the area it serves and the marques it works on - so that detail reaches local search results rather than sitting only in the copy.
