Project Overview

When this client first approached me, 'Marco's Polos' was just an idea. They needed a logo, branding, an online presence and help managing the day to day running of their new business.

They wanted a light hearted, cartoon style image. I created their logo, business cards, flyers, sales invoices & inspection sheets alongside their website and a bespoke backend management system which can be seen here.

Technical Implementation

I designed the Marco's Polos logo, their business cards and other marketing materials using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. To create their website I developed a React application written in Javascript. I utilised Tailwind CSS for styling to create a modern, responsive layout.

The cars you see for sale on the website are hydrated via the Instagram Graph API. This approach allows the client to easily manage what stock is shown on their website. Using pre-defined key words and a clever caption template, the client has full control over what cars are displayed and how they look, without ever leaving the Instagram app.

As React is purely client-side rendered, I made use of Cloudflare Workers to create server-side proxy endpoints for all of my third-party API calls, securely managing access tokens, handling CORS preflight requests, and relaying JSON responses. This ensures that all API calls are performant and prevents any API keys being exposed to the client.

The 'Marco's Matchmaker' page features a form which uses the Mailjet API to alert the client when they have received a new request. These requests are shown and can be managed from the bespoke backend management system I mentioned earlier. The Matchmaker form also includes a Cloudflare Turnstile to prevent spam from bots.
